Therefore understanding the concept of Histogram is probably the single most important concept. It’s only a Histogram, which can tell you whether your image is properly exposed or not, whether the light is too harsh or flat.
The Histogram above shows an almost perfect distribution of tones from deep shadows on the left to bright highlights on the right.
If a certain portion of the Histogram touches the edge it will indicate loss of detail, also called clipping. Highlight clipping happens when the graph is touching the right side of Histogram and shadow clipping
happens when the graph is touching the left side of the Histogram.
Histogram is a valuable tool that helps the photographer gain mastery of their digital camera image quality.
